Wine Reception
A welcome wine reception will be held at the offices of DLA Piper, 1 St Pauls Place, Sheffield (opposite Mercure St Pauls Hotel) on Tuesday 26th June at 6.30pm.

Gala Event
We are delighted to announce that the 2012 Conference Gala evening will take place on Wednesday 27th June at the Cutlers Hall, Sheffield. This Grade II listed building is the most prestigious venue in Sheffield. Built in 1832 and located in the heart of the city, The Cutlers’ Hall is the finest livery hall in the north of England and the home of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire. Your first glimpse of the main staircase will be truly memorable as you view the enormous chandelier and beautiful wood panelling. The venue hosts a spectacular display of richly decorated rooms, creating a very relaxing and impressive atmosphere.

After the Wine Reception at DLA Piper on Tuesday 26th June we would like to invite you to accompany us for dinner at 8pm in various restaurants around Sheffield. We have the following hosted dinners on offer.
Host: Angie Carter
Venue: Leopold Hotel, 2 Leopold Street, Leopold Square, Sheffield S1 2GZ, (a 5 minute walk from conference venue). Formerly the Sheffield Central Technical School this 1800 historic building offers a stylish base for both business and leisure; it is an ideal city central location. Set in the Tuscan styled Leopold Square, you need only step out of the hotel to find yourself in the most sought after area of Sheffield.

Venue: Baan Thai, 11 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield S11 8QA (a 15-20 minute walk from the conference venue, taxi available at own expense). Located in the heart of Sheffield’s cosmopolitan Ecclesall Road district, a visit to Baan Thai for dinner begins with the warm welcome that is the hallmark of Thai hospitality. A number of A la Carte dishes are available with a wide variety of choice.

Venue: The London Club, 33 Surrey Street, Sheffield, S1 2LG (a 1 minute walk from the conference venue). Located in one of the most picturesque corners of Sheffield, London Club boasts cobbled streets and nearby theatres and galleries. Influence is taken from the classic Parisian Bistros with a modern British interpretation.
Open to Conference sponsors, business leaders and non-academic delegates.

Venue: Wig and Pen, 44 Campo Lane, Sheffield, S1 2EG, (a 7 minute walk from the conference venue). Established in their new home overlooking the picturesque Georgian Paradise Square, the Wig and Pen offers diners a contemporary seasonal menu which is constantly evolving to reflect their use of fresh, locally-sourced produce.

Venue: Browns Bar & Brasserie, St Paul’s Parade, Sheffield, S1 2JL , (a 1 minute walk from the conference venue). Browns occupies one of the most tranquil spots imaginable, given its city centre location; overlooking the award winning Peace Gardens. The bar and restaurant are set in what used to be the city’s Army & General Stores, and are set in the heart of Sheffield’s theatre district.
